Abstract
With an objective analysis of Minzu’s Chinese definitions and a comparative study with its most frequent English translations, this paper aims to reveal potential misunderstanding issues in the practice of cross-lingual, cross-cultural interaction. Keywords: Minzu, culture, world-view, cross-cultural communication Resume Cet article analyse objectivement la complexite et l’ambiguite de la signification du mot « nation » dans le chinois, met en question son tradution anglaise et indique les problemes latents des propos concernant la nation dans la communication transculturelle. Cet article vise a reveler les barrieres eventuelles dans la communication transculturelle a travers l’analyse de la complexite et l’ambiguite de la notion « nation » et discute les strategies de la communication transculturelle dans le contexte de la mondialisation.
