L’expression lexicale de la peur en inuktitut dans le nord de la Terre de Baffin

Abstract
Si les émotions liées à la peur sont universelles, les façons de les exprimer et de les catégoriser ne le sont pas. Comment les Inuit en parlent-ils alors? Dans cet article, je me propose de livrer des éléments de réponse en parcourant le lexique de la peur en inuktitut, tel qu’il est attesté dans le nord de la Terre de Baffin, en m’appuyant en grande partie sur des données provenant de la communauté de Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet). J’ai relevé dans cette région neuf bases principales qui permettent d’exprimer la peur, chacune d’elles s’adressant à une composante plus ou moins large, du spécifique au générique, du spectre émotif timérique. Une classification en est proposée.
