Abstract
La prise en charge d’un nouveau-né par les services de protection de l’enfance constitue une mesure d’intervention exceptionnelle qui comporte des enjeux majeurs sur le plan familial et juridique. En se penchant plus spécifiquement sur le modèle de famille d’accueil « Banque-mixte » (à vocation adoptive) développé par les services québécois de protection de l’enfance, le présent article s’intéresse à l’historique de placement et à la trajectoire familiale d’enfants placés dès leur naissance et pour lesquels un projet d’adoption a rapidement été envisagé. En s’appuyant sur une approche par étude de cas, l’auteure discute des balises cliniques et juridiques relatives à l’adoption et des défis que ces situations comportent en termes d’intervention sociale.
