Abstract
La période autour de 1980, c’est-à-dire celle précédant et suivant le premier référendum sur la souveraineté au Québec, est étudiée à partir de deux revues : Dérives (1975-1987) et Le Temps Fou (1978-1983), dont les titres renvoient à un flottement dans le temps et l’espace, à une « mouvance ». Cette mouvance concerne-t-elle les idées ou les intellectuels, la question nationale, la politique québécoise ou plus largement le politique ? Après avoir établi en quoi les revues sont comparables (thèmes et corpus), après avoir cerné leur projet de départ et leurs réseaux, leur rapport à la question nationale et au politique est analysé. Bien ancrées dans le Québec et ouvertes sur l’ailleurs, les deux revues ne se sentent pas interpellées par la question nationale et par le référendum, car leur engagement envers le changement et l’utopie les amène à redéfinir le politique.
