Abstract
Lorsque les oeuvres artistiques des Aborigènes d’Australie sont exposées dans des musées ou des galeries commerciales, elles sont trop souvent décontextualisées, sans aucune référence explicite au contexte sociohistorique de leur production. J’examine ici les pratiques muséales de deux expositions d’art aborigène australien (1988 et 2012) qui allièrent une collaboration entre musées, artistes autochtones et conservateurs. En analysant les différentes formes d’indexicalité déployées par les conservateurs, les musées et les artistes autochtones impliqués dans des expositions temporaires, j’interroge des façons de repenser les pratiques vers une décolonisation des mises en scène muséales.
