El objetivo de este trabajo fue establecer la relacion entre la alexitimia y el estres laboral en los de Enfermeria. Se estudio una muestra de 240 Diplomados en Enfermeria (216 mujeres y 24 hombres) que desarrollaban su labor en el medio hospitalario. Los sujetos respondieron a un cuestionario anonimo que contenia, ademas de ciertas variables sociodemograficas, como el genero, la edad y los anos de experiencia laboral, la Escala de Estres para Enfermeria (NSS) y la Escala de Alexitimia de Toronto (TAS-20). Se obtuvieron coeficientes de correlacion positivos y significativos entre las puntuaciones totales de la NSS y la TAS-20 y entre la TAS-20 y los factores de la NSS denominados relaciones profesionales y intragrupal. Asimismo, se encontro una moderada correlacion negativa, aunque significativa, entre las puntuaciones de la NSS y los anos de experiencia laboral. Los resultados confirman la asociacion entre las caracteristicas alexitimicas y la aparicion de estres laboral en el profesional de Enfermeria, especialmente en aquellos aspectos que comportan el trabajo en equipo y la comunicacion con los companeros.
