Abstract
La violence qui s’acharne contre la société colombienne a été l’objet d’une abondante littérature dans laquelle le chaos devient l’explicandum de l’action d’acteurs armés multiples : guérilla, délinquance ordinaire, paramilitaires, narcotrafiquants, Forces armées. Dans le récit officiel du conflit, l’État dit se battre contre différentes forces afin de protéger la population et les institutions légalement établies. Cependant, la violence politique institutionnelle a été, de la colonie à aujourd’hui, le principal mécanisme d’ascension au pouvoir, de même que l’appareil d’État demeure un moyen privilégié d’enrichissement. En analysant les relations sociales, ce texte démontre que les élites économiques et politiques de la société colombienne sont les principales responsables et bénéficiaires de la violence qu’elles disent combattre.
