Abstract
En s'appuyant sur l'individualisation croissante des carrières de vie, il s'agit dans le présent article de poser la question de la dissolution de la jeunesse ou des jeunesses en tant que catégories unifiées d'expériences, relevant d'un processus identique de socialisation. Le constat d'une différenciation des attitudes et des comportements juvéniles serait à comprendre comme tendance à la différenciation « absolue », c'est-à-dire comme singularisation des trajectoires et des biographies, ce processus venant se juxtaposer aux effets d'âge, de classe, de culture et de sexe. Il apparaît ainsi que, pour nombre de jeunes, il n'y a plus de centre unique de l'expérience, de fil conducteur biographique en garantissant la cohésion et le sens. Dans cette perspective — et à la lumière de certains modes d'être et d'agir — il n'y aurait plus une jeunesse (homogène) ni des jeunesses (sous-groupes hétérogènes), mais des jeunes (irréductibles).
