Résumé Les études sur la transmission d’entreprise mettent souvent l’accent sur la planification de la relève et donnent la parole aux entrepreneurs. Nous avons plutôt choisi de nous attarder au transfert de propriété et de donner la parole aux financiers pour obtenir leur vision du processus de transmission d’entreprise, connaître leurs stratégies d’intervention et les produits disponibles. Cet article présente le point de vue de quatre institutions, soit la Banque de développement du Canada, la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Desjardins Capital de risque et le Fonds de solidarité FTQ, lesquelles participent depuis plusieurs années au financement de la transmission d’entreprise, que la relève soit familiale ou non. Les interventions de ces institutions permettent également de poser des jalons qui aident les entrepreneurs à cheminer dans leur démarche de transmission d’entreprise. Elles ont à cœur la réussite de cette démarche puisque leurs intérêts, c’est-à-dire la croissance, la rentabilité et la pérennité de l’entreprise, convergent avec ceux des dirigeants.
