Abstract
En nuestro artículo, presentamos los principales resultados de un análisis de dos corpus de textos sociológicos producidos en Estados Unidos entre 1945 y 1970. Ambos están compuestos por revistas científicas, tesis de doctorado y tesinas de maestría de sociología. El análisis de éstos pretende examinar las categorías de trabajo que la sociología estadounidense aplicó a América Latina durante la Guerra Fría. La investigación se organiza mediante dos procesos de transformación léxica (desfolclorización y endotismo). Las temáticas abordadas son: las comunidades indígenas, las tradiciones y la modernización, la fertilidad humana, la urbanización, la industrialización y las migraciones internas.
