Abstract
Partendo dalla recente scoperta di una piccola calcara nelle Terme Milano (2010), probabilmente in uso tra la fine del VI e gli inizi del VII secolo d.C., quando cioè il grande impianto termale giaceva ormai in stato di abbandono e distruzione (a causa forse di uno dei grandi terremoti che colpirono Gortina in quegli anni), l’articolo propone alcune riflessioni sul funzionamento del forno come impianto periodico o temporaneo (date le modeste dimensioni) e si allarga a una riconsiderazione di simili impianti a Gortina (nel teatro del Pythion, nel quartiere bizantino e nelle Piccole Terme) e a Creta (Aptera).
