An electrically small antenna with a high quality factor is designed to enable wirelessly powered wearable electronics via resonant inductive coupling using smart-phones. This antenna facilitates the use of passive high frequency transponders for glucose monitoring on system-integrated contact lenses. Full wave numerical simulators are used to simulate the system in its preliminary design stage with realistic environmental factors. Several important design elements such as quality factor, coupling coefficient, and insertion loss are computed from the resulting S-parameters; a system demo using proof-of-concept prototype is presented here.
