Abstract
Dans cet article, je trace les parallèles entre la reforme de l'assistance sociale en Ontario, principalement dans l'application de l'employabilité des mères seules via les programmes de transition de l'assistance sociale au marché du travail après les années 90, et la transformation des codes moraux prédominants de la maternité: de «mère au foyer» à «mère au travail». De plus, j'utilise ce cas comme porte d'entrée afin de considérer l'implication des allégeances public et politique à ces codes moraux pour toutes les mères. Mon argumentation principale est que l'introduction des programmes de transition de l'assistance sociale au marché du travail n'est pas que le résultat de la politique néolibéral de l'état, mais aussi de la propagation des idées de la maternité morale à l'extérieur des politiques dans les politiques.
