Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Underground power distribution cable joints, which showed detectable levels of partial discharges (PD) in service, were removed and submitted to an accelerated ageing test in a laboratory. Prior to, and after ageing, the joints were examined by X-rays to check for any cavity or air gap that could be the site of PD generation. During ageing, the joints were simultaneously monitored with an infrared camera to locate any hot spot, and with a portable partial discharge detector, to locate precisely the areas of PD generation. The ageing test comprises overstressing at 3 p.u. and thermal cycling at 130/spl deg/C and lasts until joint failure. The aim is to attempt to define a critical PD threshold (as measured by the portable instrument) at which failure is imminent.>

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
