Abstract
L’institution scolaire ne vise pas que les apprentissages formels en lecture : elle veut également promouvoir la lecture comme pratique culturelle afin de créer des lecteurs pour la vie. L’article analyse les discours de trois revues pédagogiques sur les rapports entre l’école, le livre et la bibliothèque. On parlera d’abord de l’image de la lecture de plaisir telle que véhiculée par l’école, puis du rôle des bibliothèques scolaires et enfin, de projets particuliers d’animation du livre favorisant le travail de collaboration entre enseignants et bibliothécaires. Il apparaît que les revues pédagogiques insistent davantage sur le rôle d’animation que sur le rôle d’information des bibliothécaires et qu’elles visent particulièrement le développement du plaisir de lire chez les plus jeunes élèves, soit ceux du primaire.
