Abstract
La réflexion menée dans cet article cherche à comprendre quelle est la place de la biodiversité dans les politiques d’aménagement du territoire en Guyane. Ce département français amazonien ultramarin, présenté comme l’une des cinq zones sauvages de haute biodiversité à l’échelle mondiale, constitue un véritable laboratoire d’analyse de mobilisation de la biodiversité dans la gestion du territoire. Si au cours de ces deux dernières décennies, la biodiversité est surtout restée un concept scientifique, aujourd’hui elle se transpose dans les projets de territoire au point de voir apparaître de nombreux documents de planification et dispositifs réglementaires et contractuels intégrant les questions de biodiversité. Pour autant, la Guyane est-elle prête à dépasser l’approche d’une biodiversité conservatrice pour en faire désormais une biodiversité « aménageante » en lui donnant un sens capable de devenir le moteur d’un véritable projet territorial?
