Abstract
À partir de l’analyse du film Borderline de Lyne Charlebois, sorti en salle au Québec en 2008, et des récits de Marie-Sissi Labrèche qui ont servi de canevas au long-métrage, cet article interroge les limites rencontrées par la représentation visuelle d’une sexualité féminine ancrée dans l’explicite. Dans le passage des livres de Marie-Sissi Labrèche au film de Charlebois qui s’en inspire, l’esthétique postpornographique et la sexualité féminine excessive, voire grotesque, qui caractérisent les premiers s’édulcorent jusqu’à transformer la quête sexuelle de la narratrice en une quête amoureuse. Au regard de ces modifications esthétiques qui ne sont pas sans conditionner la signification du sexuel, on peut se demander si la représentation visuelle de la sexualité féminine n’est pas, encore aujourd'hui, placée sous le signe d’une menace de contamination du social.
