Résumé Les institutions laïques publiques constituent un lieu d’engagement pour les citoyens croyants. Et pourtant, ces institutions exigent la mise entre parenthèses des convictions appuyées sur des « doctrines englobantes », selon l’expression de John Rawls. Les citoyens croyants sont soumis à des normativités institutionnelles qui confrontent leurs valeurs et, partant, leur identité de croyant. Comment réagissent-ils à ces inévitables chocs axiologiques ? Quels déplacements ou quelles recompositions identitaires ces engagements suscitent-ils ? Quelle forme théologique d’accompagnement peut être pertinente dans de tels contextes institutionnels ?
