Abstract
C’est désormais un lieu commun de la critique que d’opposer génériquement mémoires et autobiographie par le critère du récit d’enfance : les Mémoires porteraient témoignage des faits accomplis par l’être responsable et social, l’adulte, tandis que l’autobiographie, introspection intime et personnelle, inventerait le récit d’enfance à la première personne et cesserait au seuil des Mémoires, lors de l’entrée du héros et narrateur dans l’âge adulte.
