Abstract
Abstract The language policy of Quebec differs from those of other Canadian provinces and of the federal government since it is aimed at protecting and enhancing the use of the Francophone majority languages within its territory, while the other policies are aimed at helping the territorial minorities (Francophone outside Quebec, Anglophone within for the federal policy) preserve their language, mainly through transmission to their children by minority‐language education.
