Abstract
Zvonko Biljecki was born on the 15th October 1960 in Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina.He graduated from grammar high school with excellent results and enrolled the Faculty of Geodesy at University of Zagreb in 1979, where he graduated in 1984 and studied MSc postgraduate studies in (1986)(1987)(1988).He has taken several informatics and management techniques and strategies courses, image data processing courses and IT courses.His key qualifications are management, photogrammetry and geoinformatics, development and application of quality control systems, modelling and development of databases according to ISO, OGC and CEN standards, as well as production and project management.He is a member of numerous professional and institutional bodies; for example the Croatian NSDI council (since May 2007), Croatian Cartographic Society (has performed the duty of vice-president since 2001), Section for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing of the Croatian Geodetic Society (president since year 2000), Council of Project STOKIS (president).He is the owner and director of company Geofoto which he established in 1993.In 1984, he began his career working as a surveying expert, and then a research graduation theses.He held several public lectures and received two awards from the International Cartographic Association (for the best orientation map in 2001 (Beijing) and for the best photomap of urban area in 1999 (Ottawa)).He has actively participated at several international conferences and symposia (Map Middle East, Intergeo, FIG Congresses, ISPRS conferences and symposia and others).He is also the author of a number of scientific and professional works and has great experience abroad and in Croatia in project leadership for clients like Ministries, Governments, World Bank, CARDS project and others.The thesis Concept and Implementation of Croatian Topographic Information System is written in English, 159 pages (A4 format), contains an acknowledgement, abstract in German and English, list of references and CV.
