Cet article se propose de montrer que l'engagement politique de jeunes femmes militant au sein de partis politiques et de groupes féministes peut être lu comme une pratique de responsabilité. Chez elles en effet, l'engagement politique se vit d'abord comme obligation envers les autres, envers les institutions sociales. Il implique une responsabilité de citoyenne, un devoir de citoyen. L'engagement est également un pouvoir d'agir pour un changement de société, mettant en lumière la dimension prospective de la responsabilité. Enfin, l'engagement des jeunes femmes illustre l'émergence dans le champ politique de formes nouvelles de subjectivité, marquées par l'importance des convictions personnelles : par la passion plutôt que par une idéologie ou par l'adhésion en bloc à un parti.
