Este artigo analisa os diferenciais de desempenho global e setorial das mesorregiões Sudoeste Paranaense e Oeste Paranaense. Para a análise foram utilizados os métodos de análise regional. Os resultados apontaram que as duas mesorregiões se especializaram em segmentos e em setores produtivos diferenciados, com dinamismos distintos, o que explica a dinâmica diferenciada das economias regionais. Da mesma forma, os efeitos de encadeamento dos setores motrizes dessas mesorregiões foram diferenciados.
