El presente articulo indaga acerca de los desafios que las nuevas formas de contratacion electronica presentan al contrato de transporte aereo en materia de jurisdiccion. A tal efecto, se efectua primeramente un repaso de los componentes tradicionales del concepto dentro del Sistema de Varsovia, analizando el significado de cada uno de ellos. A continuacion, se realiza similar ejercicio con respecto a la asi denominada quinta jurisdiccion introducida por el Convenio de Montreal de 1999. En particular, se estudia la problematica que se presenta con la aparicion de las modalidades de reserva y compra de pasajes por medios tales como Internet o los kioscos ubicados en los aeropuertos, y como la naturaleza de estos actos influye en la determinacion del lugar de celebracion del contrato y cual es la incidencia que en este esquema tiene el domicilio del pasajero. Todos estos aspectos son evaluados a la luz de la mas importante y reciente jurisprudencia internacional elaborada sobre el particular.
