Abstract
Les premiers parcs nationaux sont nés aux États-Unis mais se sont aussi développés au Canada. L’étude comparative des parcs nord-américains montre de multiples échanges sur la Nature et sa protection au sein des parcs nationaux. Le Canada a initialement suivi le modèle états-unien mais a ensuite innové dans la gestion de ses parcs. Plusieurs pistes permettent d’expliquer les différences actuelles grandissantes entre le Canada et les États-Unis : modalités de la conquête du territoire, construction et fonctionnement du fédéralisme, place accordée aux communautés vivant dans les parcs… Le Canada serait-il un modèle émergent ou alternatif ?
