Abstract
Les recherches qui traitent des relations entre les personnes âgées et leur famille se sont principalement centrées soit sur les services mutuels qui s'échangent lorsque les grands-parents sont encore actifs, soit sur la prise en charge de ces derniers par les enfants lorsqu'ils perdent leur autonomie. La réflexion menée dans l'article tente d'examiner dans quelle mesure les nouveaux processus du vieillissement et les transformations des structures familiales — en particulier leur instabilité — peuvent modifier ces rapports et le rôle qu'ils jouent, en particulier auprès des jeunes au cours de leur évolution. Le changement probable des conditions de vie et d'insertion des personnes âgées risquent-ils de transformer ces échanges intrafamiliaux ?
