Abstract
La recherche s’est intéressée au soutien parentalrelativement à l’étude de l’orthographelexicale à domicile chez des élèves du premiercycle primaire. Un entretien téléphonique individuel etstructuré a été réalisé avec 264parents dans sept régions au Québec. L’analyse deces entretiens a révélé que la plupart des parentsoffrent un soutien aux enfants, largement assumé par lesmères. Les élèves qui exercent de larésistance face à la leçon d’orthographeà domicile sont surtout des garçons et desélèves qui manifestent des difficultés enorthographe lexicale. Certaines stratégies d’étudeexemplaires proposées aux enfants sont plus grandementutilisées par des parents dans des écoles de milieufavorisé et ce sont des parents de filles qui ontévoqué le plus grand nombre de stratégiesd’étude proposées aux enfants.
