Abstract
Résumé Aujourd’hui, l’emplacement des bourses est moins important qu’auparavant. Cela est d’autant plus vrai dans le cas des bourses de titres dérivés où le lien avec l’activité économique est faible. On peut se demander quel impact aura la fusion des bourses de Montréal et de Toronto sur l’expertise des titres dérivés à Montréal. Pour que Montréal puisse rayonner à l’échelle internationale, la communauté financière devrait s’inspirer de la Suisse, qui, à travers un fonds de dotation, a conservé une expertise locale en finance. Un tel fonds permettrait de promouvoir la formation sur les produits financiers dérivés et de financer la recherche universitaire de haut niveau. Il est donc primordial que les gens d’affaires québécois se mobilisent pour garder à Montréal cette expertise.
