Abstract
Nous nous interrogerons dans cet article sur l’évolution du statut de la femme marocaine depuis les années 50 jusqu’à présent tout en réfléchissant au changement des mentalités sociales et religieuses dans plusieurs couches sociales et dans plusieurs générations pendant ce temps-ci. Pour mieux comprendre l'évolution du statut de la femme au Maroc et, par conséquent, sa position au sein de la famille et de la société, nous ferons une analyse comparative de deux œuvres publiées à un intervalle de 30 ans environ : La Civilisation, ma Mère! (1972) de Driss Chraïbi et la nouvelle Amour sorcier (2004) de Tahar Ben Jelloun. Notre analyse montrera, dans un premier temps, qu’on retrouve des étapes évidentes d’émancipation de la femme marocaine depuis 1950 jusqu’aux années 2000. Dans un deuxième temps, nous prouverons qu’il existe un dialogue inter-générationnel entre les mères et les jeunes filles marocaines ainsi qu’une cohérence dans la transmission des idées d’émancipation qui ont contribué au changement du statut social de la femme au Maroc.
