Abstract
Este artigo tem como objetivo iniciar uma discussao a respeito da imigracao sul-norte a partir do exemplo do recente fluxo de brasileiros para o Canada, mais especificamente, para Toronto. Um pais formado por imigrantes e ainda sem uma identidade consolidada, o Canada acolhe, na unica cidade do planeta onde a maioria dos moradores sao estrangeiros e nao dominam fluentemente a lingua nacional, a maior comunidade brasileira do mundo, fora de paises de lingua portuguesa, em numeros proporcionais `a populacao. Quem sao esses brasileiros e porque escolheram o Canada? Essas perguntam comecam a ser respondidas neste artigo. Palavras-chave : desenraizamento, identidade, emigracao
