Para realizar la alineación de modelos no rígidos se requiere una transformación general que comprende una transformación rígida y una deformación. En este trabajo se presenta un sistema que emplea Funciones de Base Radial para obtener la transformación no-rígida. Si bien el modelado de objetos deformables utilizando estas funciones no es un modelado físico, es computacionalmente más rápido comparado con los métodos basados en física como los sistemas masa-resorte y el análisis por elementos finitos. Este último se toma como referencia ya que permite aproximar la deformación con gran precisión. Se realiza una comparación entre la deformación obtenida con las diferentes funciones de base radial utilizadas: gaussiana, multicuádrica y multicuádrica inversa, y aquella que se obtiene a través del análisis por elementos finitos. El sistema se evalúa sobre cuatro modelos sintéticos.
