Abstract
De 1904 à 1910, la bande dessinée humoristique connaît une brève période d’essor puis de déclin dans les suppléments du samedi des journaux La Patrie et La Presse . Cet article propose quelques pistes de recherche susceptibles d’offrir une meilleure connaissance de cette période fertile, mais méconnue, de l’histoire des arts graphiques et de l’humour visuel au Québec, notamment la question de la production des pionniers du genre et des liens noués avec d’autres formes graphiques, celle des sujets traités, avec l’apparition du thème du garnement, et, enfin, celle de sa réception.
