Abstract
Este trabalho trata da pneumatologia dos Pais da Igreja, desde o Concílio de Nicéia até o Concilio de Constantinopla I. O Concílio de Nicéia (325) definiu a divindade de Cristo, Filho de Deus, consubstancial ao Pai e em seu Símbolo acrescentou: E [cremos] no Espírito Santo. Os Pais da Igreja do século IV defenderam, contra os pneumatômacos e macedonianos, que afirmavam ser o Espírito criatura ou pelo menos de ordem inferior ao Pai e ao Filho, a divindade do Espírito Santo. Tal contribuição foi incorporada no Símbolo de fé Niceno-Constantinopolitano do Concílio de Constantinopla (381).Palavras-chave: Espírito Santo. Pais da Igreja. Macedonianismo.
