Abstract
Le speed-dating est un dispositif destiné à produire de la rencontre hétérosexuelle à connotation sentimentale. Il s’organise en tournantes de rencontre de quelques minutes entre inconnus du sexe opposé. Il s’adresse a priori à des célibataires urbains à la recherche d’un partenaire. Il témoigne de changements sociaux affectant la conjugalité. Lorsque la relation significative antérieure est rompue et lorsque le réseau social semble vide de partenaire envisageable, le speed-dating apparaît comme un moyen sécurisé de rencontrer des inconnus afin de résoudre l’injonction moderne du « libre choix du conjoint », dans un contexte contradictoire qui valorise à la fois la famille nucléaire et le mode désirant. L’article discute la parenté en tant qu’objet anthropologique. Il discute également de l’apport du sociologue Jean-Claude Kaufmann sur l’inversion sexe/amour.
