The study of this paper relies on Eight Assessment of A Dream of Red Mansions revised by Feng Qiyong. (Beijing: Culture and Arts Publishing House, September, 1991). The study of word Hong in the first eighty chapters of A Dream of Red Mansions includes the following aspects. (A) Frequencies: The word Hong doesn’t appear in 6 chapters at all, with the lowest frequency. And it appears 42 times in one chapter with the highest frequency. It appears 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 32, and 42 times respectively in each different chapter. And it appears three times in 13 chapters with the most chapters. (B) Word formation capacity: There are 48 words with Hong as the constituent morpheme, among which 31 are two-syllable words, 11 three-syllable words, and six four-syllable words. (C) Structures: The two-syllable words have six structures: structure of modification, structure of predication with objectives, structure of predication with complements, structure of combination, structure of affixation, and structure of overlapping. The three-syllable words have three structures: structure of modification, combination and affixation. And the four-syllable words have three structures: structure of predication, modification and combination. (D) Combination capacity: There are 134 phrases with Hong as the phrase or as the constituent morpheme. There are nine types of syllable formation and five types of grammar structures. (E)Syntactic functions: There are 36 examples of Hong as the one-syllable word used independently and they play five kinds of role in the sentences. There are 48 polysyllabic words used Hong as the constituent morpheme with different syntactic functions. (F) Meaning distribution: There are three kinds of meaning distribution for the one-syllable word Hong. Among the Polysyllabic words used Hong as the constituent morpheme, 37 are words with only one meaning, and 11 words with two meanings. Among the phrases with Hong as the phrase or as the constituent morpheme, 121 Hong mean red. Among other 13 phrases, only one Hong has multiple meanings, and the other are of only one meaning. (G)Semantic structure: There are seven semantic structures for the phrases with Hong as one-syllable word and polysyllabic words formed with Hong. They can be classified into 4 levels. (H)Cultural connotations: According to the text, there are three cultural connotations for the word Hong. Dans cet article, l’auteur a etudie le mot “rouge” dans les quatre-vingt premiers chapitres de Reve dans le pavillon rouge. Les domaines de cette recherche consistent en : (A) Frequence : la frequence minimum est de 0, dans 6 chapitres; la frequence maximum est de 42, dans un chapire. Ce mot apparait respectivement 12, 15,16,17,18,32 et 42 fois dans un chapitre et 3 fois dans 13 chapitres. (B) Capacite a former de nouveaux mots : 48 mots ont pour morpheme lexical le mot “rouge“, dont 31 sont dissyllabes, 11 sont trisyllabes et 6 sont quadrisyllabes. (C) Systeme de construction semantique: six methodes pour les dissyllabes: modificatif-nom, verbe-objet, predicatif-complement, structure combinee, structure additionnelle et structure reduplicativ; 3 methodes pour les trisyllabes: structure modificative, structure combinee et structure additionnelle ; 3 methodes pour les quadrisyllabes : sujet-predicatif, structure modificative et structure combinee. (D) Capacite de combinaison: 134 locutions ont pour element semantique ou morpheme lexical le mot “rouge”. 9 types de combinaison de syllabe. 5 types de structure grammaticales. (E) Fonction syntatique: Dans 36 phrases, le mot “rouge” est employe comme monosyllabe, capable de servire de 5 types d’elements phrastiques. 48 dissyllabes ont pour morpheme lexical le mot “rouge”, qui ont des fonctions syntatiques differentes (F) Repartition de sens du terme: Le mot monosyllabe “rouge”a trois sens. 37 dissyllabes, qui ont pour morpheme lexical ce mot “rouge”, sont monosemiques et 11 ont un double sens. Dans les locutions qui ont pour element semantique ou morpheme lexical le mot “rouge”, 121 sont du sens “ la couleur rouge”. Dans les 13 autres locutions dont le mot “rouge” a des sens differents, il est polysemique dans une seule locution et monosemique dans les autres locutions. (G) Structure semantique: Le mot “rouge” en tant que monosyllbe et des bissyllabes ou des locutions contenant ce mot-la peuvent etre divisees en 7 categories semantiques et sur 4 niveaux. (H) Connotation culturelle : Selon le livre de reference, le mot “rouge” a trois connotations culturelles. Mots-cles: Reve dans le pavillon rouge, quatre-vingt premiers chapitres, mot “rouge” 摘要:本文研究依據的文本,是馮其庸纂校訂定的《八家評批紅樓夢》(北京:文化藝術出版社,1991年9月版)。本文對《紅樓夢》前八十回“紅”字的研究,包括如下方面: (A) 出現頻率:有6個回目為0次,頻率昀低;有1個回目為42次,頻率昀高。出現頻率為12、15、16、17、18、32、42次的都只有1個回目,回目數昀少;出現頻率為3次的有 13個回目,回目數昀多。 (B) 構詞能力:以“紅”為語素構成的詞有48個:雙音節詞31個,三音節詞11個,四音節詞6個。 (C) 結構方式:雙音節詞有偏正、述賓、述補、聯合、附加、重疊6種;三音節詞有偏正、聯合、附加3種;四音節詞有主謂、偏正、聯合 3種。 (D) 組合能力:“紅”作為詞或以“紅”作為語素的片語合的短語有134個。短語的音節組合類型有9種。短語的語法結構類型有 5種。 (E) 句法功能:“紅”作為單音詞獨立運用的語句共36例,單獨充當5種句子成份。 以“紅”為語素構成的複音詞有 48個,句法功能各詞不一。 (F) 詞義分佈:單音詞“紅”有三個義項。以“紅”為語素構成的複音詞中單義詞 37個,有兩個義項的詞 11個。“紅”作為詞或以“紅”作為語素的片語合的短語中,有121個短語裏的“紅”,意義均為“紅色”。在具有其他意義的13個短語中,“紅” 僅在一個短語中具有多義特徵,其餘都是單義。 (G) 語義結構:“紅”作為單音詞以及由“紅”構成的複音詞和短語共有七個義類,分為四個層次。 (H) 文化內涵:根據文本確定“紅”有三種文化內涵。 關鍵詞:紅樓夢;前八十回;“紅”字;義類;文化內涵
