La icnofacies de Glossifungites es reconocida en el contacto entre las formaciones Navidad (Miembro Rapel) y La Cueva, Plioceno de la Cordillera de la Costa, Chile. La suite de Glossifungites está caracterizada por una alta densidad de ? Gastrochaenolites isp. La superficie está cubierta por un lag transgresivo. Las excavaciones están rellenas en forma pasiva por arena y grava proveniente de la capa suprayacente. La superficie es interpretada como un límite de secuencia (superficie co-planar de erosión de nivel del mar bajo y de ravinamiento trangresivo).
