Abstract
L’Internationale socialiste a confié à une Commission présidée par Joseph Stiglitz de proposer des solutions à la crise financière reposant sur quatre principes : justice, solidarité, équilibre entre gouvernement et marché, et démocratie. Celle-ci a immédiatement proposé un programme d’urgence. Elle a énoncé ensuite diverses propositions dont un plan d’action en 2012 pour réformer les institutions financières internationales, réguler le secteur financier pour contrer la spéculation, résoudre la crise de l’euro, augmenter la compétitivité et relancer la croissance tout en garantissant une sécurité sociale. Ce programme modéré va dans le sens d’économistes de renom comme, par exemple, Armatya Sen et Paul Krugman.
