Este artículo aborda las corrientes opuestas a la presencia de la religión en la esfera pública. Según un modelo ultra-fundamentalista de laicidad a la francesa, quizá asumido en\n Quebec, la religión, sus instituciones y sus manifestaciones no deberían tener ninguna influencia en la vida política. El artículo presenta los postulados de base de esas corrientes,\n particularmente en lo que se refiere a la definición de la modernidad y la capacidad de acción de las mujeres
