L’objectif général de cette recherche 1 est de décrire et de comprendre de quelle manière le contexte statistique, caractérisé d’un côté par une non-linéarité et d’un autre côté par une relation de quasi-proportionnalité, influence le raisonnement proportionnel chez des élèves au 3 e cycle du primaire. Pour ce faire, nous avons présenté quatre problèmes à deux équipes de trois élèves. Les résultats de notre recherche procurent des connaissances d’une part sur l’influence du contexte statistique sur le raisonnement proportionnel des élèves du primaire et d’autre part sur la richesse des différents raisonnements chez ces élèves, notamment de la prépondérance de la moyenne et du raisonnement statistique dans la résolution des problèmes statistiques et des problèmes impliquant des données quasi proportionnelles.
