Le theme genre et politique est aborde par des sociologues, des juristes, des historien-ne-s autant que par des politologues. L'ouvrage en question presente une synthese des travaux effectues dans la science politique belge et s'interroge egalement dans un chapitre introductif sur leurs conditions institutionnelles, en particulier les risques d'une trop forte politisation de ces recherches car elles dependent de financements exterieurs. Malgre l'absence d'un soutien institutionnel permanent dans les universites, un nombre important de travaux est repere. L'introduction en presente un survol, les articles qui suivent s'interessent a des questions de recherche actuelles. Le panorama est complete par trois contributions provenant d'autres regions francophones (la France, la Suisse romande et le Quebec) qui permettent de mettre les etudes belges en perspective et de montrer la ressemblance des themes etudies ou comme le resume Jane Jenson : « On
