L’apparition de contrôleurs à architecture ouverte pour les machines-outils à commande numérique a favorisé la conception de nouveaux langages de contrôle. Ces langages introduisent des fonctionnalités permettant d’exploiter plus à fond les machines et tentent de palier aux lacunes des Codes-G, qui a maintes fois fait l’objet de critiques, notamment lors de l’élaboration du standard STEP-NC (ISO14649). Pourtant, ce langage est encore souvent le seul utilisé pour les contrôleurs de machines-outils et aucune alternative n’a véritablement été utilisée ailleurs qu’en recherche. Cet article propose une nouvelle architecture logicielle pour le contrôle des machines-outiis : l’architecture BNCL (Basic Numerical Control Language). Cette architecture repose sur l’abstraction de la machine-outil ainsi que de l’environnement logiciel utilisé. Elle permet l’utilisation de multiples langages de programmation, incluant les sources APT ou STEP-NC provenant des logiciels de FAO, et offre une grande flexibilité d’utilisation. De plus, cette approche répond aux principaux critères d’implémentation des contrôleurs à architecture ouverte exposés dans la littérature. Une came définie de façon paramétrique a été usinée afin de démontrer la validité et les performances des concepts proposés. Cet essai a démontré que la limitation des performances sous cette architecture provient dorénavant des capacités physiques de la machine-outil et non de l’architecture logicielle elle-même.
