Abstract
La Diplomacia Cultural como un elemento de la política exterior ha sido utilizada por una variedad de estados con el propósito de obtener prestigio y generar una imagen positiva. Esta estrategia exitosa ha sido empleada también en las relaciones internacionales de países que buscan generar simpatía y reconocimiento a sus causas nacionales. Un ejemplo de esto último es el caso de Québec que a través de sus relaciones con el exterior se ha servido de maniobras de Diplomacia Cultural para difundir su carácter distinto como nación en la federación canadiense. En ese sentido, el artículo destaca el papel del factor cultural en las relaciones de Québec con el entorno internacional para enfatizar el carácter distinto de la sociedad quebequense más que para destacar las competencias propias en materia de relaciones internacionales.
