Alors que les autoroutes de l'information constituent l'un des themes les plus mediatises de ces derniers mois, un ouvrage abordant avec serieux et recul la question etait plus que jamais necessaire. Voila qui est fait avec Les autoroutes de l'information. Un produit de la qui s'interesse a ces fameuses routes sous des aspects economiques, politiques, sociaux et techniques. Cet ouvrage represente avec un livre precedent intitule De la telematique aux autoroutes electroniques. Le grand projet reconduit (1) la concretisation d'un programme de recherche franco-quebecois de quatre ans sur la convergence des technologies de l'information. Celui-ci a ete realise a partir des contributions de 77 conferenciers qui ont participe du 29 septembre au 1er octobre 1994 a un symposium international sur la convergence des techniques de communication a Montreal.
