Abstract
La GIZC prend en considération les questions sociales et culturelles et concerne donc aussi le patrimoine culturel. Plusieurs textes relatifs à la GIZC, comme le protocole de Madrid, contiennent des dispositions relatives à la prise en compte du patrimoine culturel parfois qualifié de patrimoine commun. Ainsi, les projets se réclamant de la démarche de GIZC devraient amener à reconsidérer le concept de bien culturel littoral ou maritime, alors qu’il est difficile de préciser la définition de celui-ci à travers les instruments classiques de conservation, et non spécifiques au littoral, du droit du patrimoine. Il résulte du processus de GIZC une soumission plus grande du patrimoine culturel maritime au principe de développement durable et aux actions de mise en valeur, notamment touristique.
