Abstract
Power system deregulation has introduced some fundamental problems regarding system security and customer reliability. This paper presents some reliability models for different market players in an arbitrary power market. A generation system is represented by an equivalent multi-state generation provider and a transmission system is represented by an equivalent multistate transmission provider. The parameters of the equivalent service providers are determined using reliability network equivalent techniques. The determination and implementation of nonuniform reliability are illustrated. A test system is used to illustrate the application of these techniques.
