Abstract
En junio del 2006 fue presentado por Naciones Unidas en Vancouver, Canadá, el tercer informe mundial de ciudades, o más precisamente “El estado de las ciudades en el mundo 2006-2007”. Como es bien conocido, a esta reunión de carácter internacional asisten representantes de los diferentes gobiernos del mundo, del sector académico y del sector no gubernamental para reflexionar sobre la evolución del proceso de urbanización en el planeta y evaluar los avances de las políticas dirigidas a disminuir la pobreza en las ciudades de los países en vías de desarrollo.
