Abstract
Il saggio esamina l’evoluzione delle forme documentarie delle deliberazioni consiliari nelle città comunali italiane tra XII e XIV secolo. In una prima fase, ancora fino all’inizio del Duecento, non esiste una vera e propria forma documentaria specificamente consiliare. Un nuovo modello testuale in tal senso emerge nel secondo quarto del Duecento, a seguito di una intensa elaborazione da parte dei professionisti della scrittura, che giunse a compimento nel periodo della comparsa dei primi libri consiliorum, prima a San Gimignano e poi a Prato, Bologna, Perugia, Siena. Il secondo Duecento è la fase di piena maturazione delle delibere consiliari. Nel secolo successivo, per effetto di mutati equilibri istituzionali e politici tra assembleee “larghe” e ristretti comitati di governo, è in corso una ulteriore evoluzione, della quale il saggio esamina i passaggi in piccoli centri autonomi, città signorili e grandi dominanti repubblicane come Bologna e Firenze.
