Abstract
Late one afternoon in July 2010, on one of our frequent visits to the Cape of Good Hope, Barrie Shoosmith, myself and Marland Holderness of the Friends of the Cape of Good Hope (FCGH) went to see what was flowering in the Olifantsbos area. Attracted by what first appeared to be bits of seaweed, we followed the little trail to the edge of the path and saw, under a Metalasia bush, a very low growing plant. This looked like a parasitic plant but not one that we had seen before.
