Abstract
L’approche classique de la théorie de l’agence assimile l’entreprise familiale à la figure simple du propriétaire-manager pour qui n’existent pas les conflits d’intérêt. Des travaux récents ont montré qu’il s’agit en réalité d’une forme organisationnelle plus complexe, construite autour du réseau que constitue la famille et qui repose sur la figure de l’entrepreneur fondateur. Nous expliquons d’un point de vue théorique comment une phase de succession peut introduire des variations dans les équilibres familiaux qui sont susceptibles d’éroder ce capital familial et d’estomper les avantages initialement associés. Nous en déduisons des implications managériales et des perspectives pour les recherches futures.
