Abstract
La maison est perçue, dans un premier temps, comme un moyen d'expression. Elle est, pour la femme comme pour l'artiste, le lieu sécurisé qui garantit sa liberté dans la création. La maison devient, ensuite, le symbole de l'écriture de l'intime. Elle est une bulle hermétique propice à l'introspection et à l'écriture de soi. L'analogie entre l'inconscient et l'habitation est très présente dans La Maison de l'inceste. Le Journal est, quant à lui, souvent associé à l'image d'une maison. Enfin, dans un dernier temps, Anaïs Nin semble éprouver les limites de cet espace restreint. Elle cherche à dépasser, dans son art, l'emprisonnement que représentent les quatre murs inébranlables.
